Happy Anniversary

This weekend AJ and I celebrated our First Anniversary. I cannot believe that we've been married for one year already. I've noticed that as I get older the years tend to fly by faster; this year went by in a blink. To think that only a year ago AJ and I were getting ready to say "I Do" and share the best night of our lives with all of our family and friends. All of the hard work and planning that went into our wedding was all worth it because it was a PERFECT day/night. We had our best friends standing next to us and our families watching on as AJ and I promised to be support, encourage, and love one another forever. I'm a strong believer in everything happens for a reason and meeting AJ is proof of that. He is more than my better half, he is what makes me whole. I am truly overwhelmed by my love for him.

We have started our forever off with a bang! It's been the most amazing year! AJ and I both wanted kids right away, but I don't think either of us expected it to actually happen as fast as it did. In one year we went from saying "I Do", to "We're pregnant", to "It's a BOY", to "He's here"! I can't imagine a better way to spend our first year as husband and wife.

We spent our anniversary as a family in Monterey. The weather was beautiful and Emerson was a happy baby! We weren't able to get a family photo, but here's the Mr. & Mrs. and our view for the day!

I guess it's sort of a family photo since that's Emerson in the stroller.
We finished off our night with a slice of our wedding cake. It looked a little off, but it tasted great. Even though it was delicious, we only had a bite each because there's something about eating year-old cake that's unappetizing.

I can't wait for what our next year as husband and wife and parents brings us! We get to see this little guy grow into a little man. I have a feeling this year will be better than the last!

How I get to spend my days

I am so lucky to be able to spend my days with my beautiful, healthy little boy. As I've expressed before, he's growing every day. He's quite the little chatter box these days. As he grows bigger and gets older it means my time home is getting shorter; how am I going to be able to leave this handsome boy?

Mid-Month Mugshots - 6 weeks

Our baby is already 6 weeks old. We finally got his newborn digital prints and as promised, here's our little stud!

This melts my heart. They are my world, my everything.

Aren't these just the cutest pictures ever?! I plan on taking professional pictures for 3, 6, 9, and 12 months. Groupon was having a deal with JC Penny for $125 worth for only $30 so I swooped on that. It works out perfectly that his 3 month lands around Halloween so I'll be using my Groupon to kill two birds with one stone! Can't wait for you to see his costume, it's a surprise!

Daddy took off this week as one of his baby bonding weeks. Since he had a 4-day holiday weekend he only had to take off 4 days to get a total of 10 days! It's been so nice having him home; I can actually brush my teeth and shower before noon! We had big plans to start working on the bathroom, but it's hard to get any work done when you have this face distracting you.

We had a busy Labor Day weekend with family and A's games. Friday night we headed to San Jose for Emerson to meet his Jimenez family. He has 7 Aunts and Uncles that were excited to finally meet our cutie. He also got to meet his 5 month old cousin and they were instant BFFs! Saturday we had a night/fireworks A's game. We debated bringing Emerson and ultimately decided to leave him with his Nana and Auntie Jaz. Since we were thinking of taking him we had bought him a pair of safety earmuffs. Now we're trying to find places that give us an excuse to use them; can you blame us?

Sunday we went back to Nana's house for a post-baby baby shower with AJ's step side of the family. It was such a nice day and he was such a great baby! Finally on Monday we decided to take Emerson to his first A's game. It was a last minute decision so by the time we packed everything up and drove to Oakland it was the 5th inning. We had dressed him for cool weather because that's what they were calling for, but once we got into the stadium there was no wind, only dead heat. We sat in our seats until the 7th inning when we couldn't take the heat anymore. We went upstairs to the Bar and Grill to change his diaper and put him in something cooler. He had been sleeping this whole time so when he woke he was starving. I spent the remainder of the game breastfeeding. All in all Emerson was great, but bringing a baby is a lot of work. He'll be going to his second game next season.

First game certificate and button.
Emerson is changing everyday it seems. He's eating SO much now, which means he's growing. We've had two nights where he's slept 4 hours straight so we're I'm hoping it's a new pattern.
True Dat!
Our little guy is such the talker these days. He loves spending his mornings listening to Mommy sing along with Pandora Nursery Rhymes. Sometimes he sings along too. If he's not talking, he's smiling. Look at this little ham.

50/50 chance he's smiling on the changing table
We are so in love with Emerson and we love watching him change before our eyes!
